Organic Gluten-Free Oats

The common oat is a cereal grain, the seed of a species of grass called Avena sativa. Its ancient ancestor, Avena sterilis, was native to the Fertile Crescent in the Near East, but domesticated oats do best in cool, moist climates like regions of Europe and the United States.

Dried Fruit Porridge Recipe

- 875ml (3½ cups) soy milk - 375ml (1½ cups) water - 225g (2½ cups) quick cooking rolled oats - 80g (½ cup) sultanas - 50g (1/3 cup) chopped dried figs - 50g (1/3 cup) chopped dried apricots - 55g (1/3 cup) dried mulberries​

Combine milk and water in pan, bring to boil, add remaining ingredients, stir over heat until mixture boils. Simmer, uncovered, stirring occasionally, until mixture is thick. Serve porridge with extra milk, cinnamon and brown sugar, if desired.
