Organic Dried Sumac, Culinary Purposes

May 8, 2017

Sumac has long been used as a flavoring ingredient especially in the Middle East and Mediterranean.

Sumac has a very nice, fruity-tart flavor which is not quite as overpowering as lemon. With its citrusy notes, sumac also stands on its own and is most readily associated with savory dishes as a rub or seasoning on meat or fish like salmon.

And besides that, sumac imparts a great refreshing flavor as a syrup in desserts, jellies and drinks.

Sumac used as spice in order to add sour taste to dishes and generally used in its ground form. You can check the following photo. After the appropriate drying methods, they mixed with table salt and used as spice.
